September book Series

Pastor Paul reminded us that he will be preaching from the book "Just Walk Across the Room: Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith (Hardcover) by Bill Hybels (Author) , starting in September. He also said there will be 3 opportunities for small groups with info to come. I found it on amazon.com for $9.99 new (cheaper for used) and only $3.99 for shipping--if you order more than $25 you get free shipping (if you're interested just click on the link above) This book is supposed to be "life changing".

May 30th

Don't forget Bible School is around the corner and we still need help. Please see the the SWUMC homepage for details.

On June 10th The "Bell-Buddies" will be here to sing in both services. In their 25th year and they are led by Tonda Murphy...your heart will be stirred as these 11 handicapped adults play their music for the Lord. Don't miss this special event, and invite a friend.

Our Church newcomer team will be feeding this group after the 2nd service on June 10th. It will be a simple meal of probably pizza and chips. If anyone is interested in helping with these expenses please contact Bruce Wrightsman at 260-839-0138 or put your offering in this Sunday marked Bell-Buddies. All help is appreciated.

Pastor Paul's New Article

Friday March 23, 2007
After a very busy week of playing catch-up I have finally found the time to sit down and write about our work teams experience last we in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Rick and Missy Bollinger, Patty Good and myself had a very powerful and rewarding week down in Louisiana. We worked with 52 students and adults representing Wesley Foundation at Purdue and College Connection at Ball State University. The groups interacted well together through worship, work and play. I was especially impressed at how spiritually mature most of the college students were at this point in their young journey. They led devotions and worship twice a day. By the end of the week our three groups had bonded physically and spiritually. Although two days of pouring rain threatened to put a damper on our planned roof-work we were able to find enough work inside for everyone. When the sun finally came out, we all worked together to get the roofing done. By the end of the week we had completed two foofs, took out rotting walls, ceilings and floors, dry-walled one house, and completely rewired another house. Despite a few mishaps with a pit-bull, fire grass, a scratched cornea, and rusty nails, everyone had a great experience-finally giving four wonderful families their homes back. The four of us pulled back into South Whitley Saturday night exhausted but blessed. Blessed because we were able to carry out the Lords' work in such a meaningful way. We would like to thank all of you who supported us financially and with you prayers. We are looking forward to sharing our experience with you on Sunday morning in the near future. God Bless!!! March Activities

The Newcomer's Church Committee, Bruce Wrightsman, Dee Snep, Miriam Bishop, Beth Ann Sickafoose, and Becki Vanderford are planning an all-church dinner on April 15 immediately after the second service.

Mike's Message is on the home page! Please check it out if you didn't get to hear him on Sunday!
Please keep Pastor Paul, Rick, Melissa, and Patty in your prayers while they are in Louisiana helping those in desperate need.

Next Sunday March 18 please remember to bring your change to fill up the shaker cans for the children's mission.
Also after church next Sunday the Cornerstone class is hosting a St. Patrick's day luncheon--baked potatos, salads, and dessert. A free will donation is appreciated.

March 25th at 6 pm please join us to hear a truly wonderful and inspirational program. Robert Rogers is speaking about his journey after losing his family in a terrible car accident. There will be refreshments following the service.

Today we heard a wonderful sermon from Bruce and Mike S. For those who may not have gotten to be at church today, Mike has agreed to send me his part of the sermon to post here on the blog and church website. I would love to include Bruce's sermon too. Please send it to me.
