Friday

SWUMC News
What a nice week it turned out to be. Ran 4 miles today (took a couple walk breaks though). It felt so good, though. I waved at the stool by the tree I've had to stop at before on on Calhoun, right off of 205...didn't have to take a load off today!

Jackson pottied in the toilet 3 times today...he also had 4 accidents. Oh well, it's a start. I forgot how exhausting potty training can be. Boys are harder than girls, in my opinion (I keep having to wash my bathroom rugs, if you know what I mean).
I now have several new mouth sores, but I'm trying to eat an M & M as I write this...I'd do anything for chocolate!
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend!
Love, Becca

Dad & Uncle Randy

SWUMC News
Up all night coughing. Then I remembered we had some very old children's cough medication with codeine...so I took it...didn't work. Anyways, I'm so tired of all that post nasal drainage. I think nearly every patient I saw yesterday had the same complaint. All the over the counter meds are useless to me now, nothing is working. I imagine it's worse because of my lower blood counts.

Still drug myself to the Y again last night. (I though we had a date Mindy?) I was thankful Mary Beth was there again. I'm telling you, working out with friends is the way to go. Especially when you're forced to work out indoors.
Ran nearly 2 miles on the treadmill, but my legs felt like lead. So I switched to the eliptical machine for about 30 minutes total. Even tried to do sit ups on the exercise ball, nearly fell off when I tried to "gracefully" dismount from it. Those balls are so full of air that it's hard to stay on them. Oh, another thing...I experienced one of the most horrifying, uncomfortable moments of my life last night...a hotflash while working out. It was horrible. I couldn't breathe, felt like heading for the doors to be cooled off by the pouring down rain. It's bad enough that I'm a huge sweater, but to have a hot flash on top of it about put me over the edge. I may have to start stuffing ice packs in my gym clothes!

I have another prayer request for my friend Sara G. She continues to lose weight and the doctors can't figure out for sure what's going on. I've suggested maybe heading to a big medical center somewhere. She may look into that. She is a mother, as well, and trying to work part time to keep things somewhat "normal". I feel for her. Please pray that she gets answers, and continues to have strength.
Please enjoy this dryer day! Love, Becca

Where's all the snow?

SWUMC News
I can't believe all of this rain! Wow. Last year we were sledding last weekend, this year we're using our umbrellas.

I'm feeling much better from the chemo. Boy, Sunday I thought that maybe this would be the day I don't bounce back. I felt really poor all week. By Sunday night, I was perking up and feeling pretty good (Jade is thankful because he said I was a grouch!) He was right, though.
Woke up yesterday morning and started cleaning and rearranging things, even moved the Christmas tree! Then we went to the library, got some books, and ate at the Corner Cafe. The kids had never been in there. We had fun.

I'm working this week (my usual 3 days). It's funny how my brain doesn't work well during chemo, but come Monday afternoon, I'm trying to reabsorb all the medical info on my desk that drug reps leave me. (And I'm searching through the break room for any goodies they might leave).

Last night, I drug myself to the YMCA. It was worth it. I met a couple of really nice people that started walking/running at the Love Run and haven't stopped. It was great to hear their excitement for exercise. I also made it one entire mile on the treadmill (heart still racing a bit, though), then headed to the eliptical. There I was blessed to have Mary Beth on one side and Mindy on the other. It sure makes working out more fun when you do it with friends. (Also, saw Gina and she's still celebrating her wonderful news!)
Well, I imagine you can tell I'm feeling better because I'm rambling on here. Have a super week. Thank you for your prayers, cookies (Lori S), and all the smiles when we're out and about! Love, Becca

Sunday December 10th

SWUMC News
Sorry I haven't written much this week, I haven't felt very well. I have been really nauseated and just felt "green". I had a lot of help with the kids this week. Aunt Sara always comes over and actually knows my schedule better than me. She's so good with the kids. Val also watched the kids a day and is always there for us. We are truly blessed by good friends and family.

I got unhooked yesterday, but still feel queezy. I think I'm going to attempt church this morning without the kids. They still have a cold and are coughing quite a bit. I keep telling myself that I'll have 3 weeks off until the next round...but it's still been rough. I think what I thought was a cold is now a sinus infection. So I need to probably finally get some antibiotics for it. I can't seem to get over it on my own.

We do have Christmas at Candy and Randy's today, so that should be fun, as long as everyone feels well enough. I'm trying to muster up a positive attitude today and hope I have enough energy to make it through all the festivities.
Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement. We really need it. Love, Becca
